How to build a content strategy you can stick to (without burning out) šŸš€

Stop scrambling for ideas - hereā€™s 5 tips to help you stay consistent with less effort.

For a long time, I created content with no real plan. Iā€™d post whenever inspiration struck, hoping something would stick.

The result? Inconsistent growth, burnout and a whole lot of frustration.

It wasnā€™t until I learned how to build a content strategy that everything started to click.

Hereā€™s how to build your content strategy today šŸ‘‡

1. Start With Your Pillars

Your pillars are the 3ā€“5 themes that represent your brand.

These are the topics your audience knows you for and they should guide every piece of content you create.

For example, your pillars might include:

  • Travel tips and hacks

  • Personal stories from the road

  • Photography or videography advice

  • Destination guides

Clear pillars keep your message focused and help you attract the right audience.

It just makes coming up with ideas easier.

Instead of asking, ā€œWhat should I post today?ā€ youā€™ll ask, ā€œWhich pillar do I want to focus on?ā€.

2. Create a Weekly Framework

A weekly framework is your roadmap for showing up consistently without the last-minute scramble to post literally anything.

Start by assigning specific content types to specific days, for example:

  • Monday: Quick travel tips

  • Wednesday: Personal stories

  • Friday: A photo carousel or video

This approach eliminates decision fatigue and keeps you consistent.

Now, here's the secret sauce: batching similar tasks to maximize your efficiency.

Assign time blocks to writing all your captions in one sitting, or filming multiple videos while your gear is set up and ready to go.

It really is such a huge time-saver - especially if youā€™re balancing content creation with other priorities.

3. Build a Content Bank

One of the biggest challenges for creators is running out of ideas - sometimes it feels easy and other times your mind just goes blank, right?

That's why you need a content bank - a central place to store ideas as and when they come to you.

Use a simple tool like Notion or Google Docs to collect and organize your ideas under your pillars.

When you see content that resonates with you, save it!

Use those ideas to spark your own creativity and put your unique spin on them.

And donā€™t forget to repurpose! A single video concept could be turned into Threads, image posts or even an email newsletter like this one.

4. Measure & Adjust

No strategy is perfect from the start, and thatā€™s okay.

Take time to review your analytics weekly or monthly. Which posts performed best? What types of content got the most engagement?

Double down on what works. If a carousel about travel tips performs usually well - just replicate the format for a different topic.

Set aside a short time each week to reflect and refine. Small adjustments can have a big impact in the long run.

A good content strategy is constantly evolving. Your audience will grow, your interests will change over time - and thatā€™s exactly how it should be.

Donā€™t overthink it.

Thatā€™s all for this week, see you next time.
